LAKE, Murray Grant Age 57, of East Walton, Hants Co. It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that we have to announce the tragic passing of Murray, who passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, January 28, 2017, along with his best friend and companion, his dog, Buddy. Murray was born in East Walton and was a son of the late Grant and Catherine (Laffin) Lake. He is remembered by his loving common-law wife of 8 years, Nancy "Gerry" Smith; son, Clarence Kaiser; brother, Norman (Sherry); sister, Linda (Tim). Also, step children, Amanda and Pam Kaiser, Dawn (Chris), Tara (Paul) and BJ (Amanda); grandchildren, Alexa, Ashley, Andrea, Logan, Kaden and Camden; "Grampie's special girls", Alayna, Aleeya and Vivianne. Besides his parents, Murray was predeceased by sister, Joyce; brother, Herman; paternal grandparents, Levi and Elsie Lake; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Dorcas Laffin. Murray will always be remembered as an extremely caring, helpful and "old fashioned" man, by many friends and family members. He was a remarkable spouse, father and grandfather and will forever hold a special place in everyone's hearts. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 in Tennecape United Church. Burial will follow in the Tennecape Cemetery. Donations in memory of Murray may be made to the Tennecape Cemetery Fund, C/O Mavis Aza, 871 Hwy 215, East Walton, NS B0N 2R0 or Walton Shore Fire Department, 4281 Walton Woods Rd., Walton, NS B0N 2R0.
