COLEMAN, Allison L. "Al" Better known as Al, a long-time resident of Mount Uniacke, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 in Haliburton Place, Windsor. Born June 7, 1937 in Black Rock, Kings County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ruby (O'Neill) Coleman. Al is survived by his wife Linda (Schofield); children, Mark, Burlington, ON; Lorry Anne (Greg), Windsor; Andy (Sheri), Mount Uniacke; and grandchildren, Amanda, Kelsi, Meagan, Liam, Patrick, Aiden, Mackenzie and Sam. Al was a loving and patient father who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Many fond memories were made at family gatherings or during family camping trips. Al was happiest in his garden, working in a new load of dirt every year to grow enough vegetables to share with all. Al had a passion for the Montreal Canadiens, which was evident to all who knew him. Al also took great satisfaction from volunteering in his community providing the opportunity for youth to engage in a variety of recreational activities Al is also survived by sisters, Dora Fredericks, Eleanor Ward and Helen Sweeney. Besides his parents, Al was predeceased by brother, Ivan; sister, Arlene Bezanson. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Al's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Curry officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Al may be made to Easter Seals and Canadian Diabetes Association.
