BROWN, Chester Murton

It is with heavy hearts the family of Chester Murton Brown announce his peaceful passing on May 30, 2018 at the age of 88 years, seven months.  He was surrounded by his loving family at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.

Chester was born October 28, 1929, the eldest son of the late Percy and Florence (Harvey) Brown. Chester had a career spanning over fifty years, working as a milkman, a mailman, a bus driver, a trucker, a heavy equipment operator, and a road foreman, to mention a few.  After his retirement, Chester and Yvonne travelled across Canada, down to Arizona and spent 12 years enjoying winters in Florida. Chester loved his family, dancing, telling stories and apple pie!  His smooth dancing moves made him a popular guy at many dances where he loved to waltz, two step and polka. He had developed very special friendships at the Newfoundland Club.

Chester is survived by his loving wife of 64 ½ years, Yvonne (Harris); five children, Heather (Bob) Mcdonald, Kevin (Barbie), Graeme (Karen), Janice Forand and Lisa Lebrasseur; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Colin, Matthew, Katherine, Corey, Jacqueline, Charmaine, Kaitlyn, Émilie, Molly, Isabelle; and five great-grandchildren, Parker, John-Michael, Peyton, Marcus and Nate.  He is also survived by half-brother, Adam (Torra) Brown and their children; half-brother, Aaron (Jennifer) Brown; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Ivy Wasson; sister-in-law, Anne Harris; aunt, Camilla Munroe; niece, Laura (Daryl) and their son, Hunter Dill; niece, Annette Woodcock; nephew, Rick (Mary) Woodcock and their children; as well as step-brothers, step-sisters, many cousins and countless friends.

In addition to his parents, Chester was predeceased by an infant sister; brother, Charlie and sister-in-law, Rosita Brown; brother-in-law, Robert Harris; and son-in-law, Rick Forand.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude for all the health professionals involved in Chester’s care during the last four years.  The family extends a special thank you for the compassionate care provided by the staff at Hants Community Hospital during this past month, in addition to the outpouring of support from the TOPS NS,0563 Windsor group and to many friends.
