Obituary of Craig Andrew Richardson

Please share a memory of Craig to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Craig Andrew Richardson, loving husband, father and son. He fought a courageous battle with cancer surviving against all odds the first time.  It came back with a vengeance this summer and although he fought with everything he had in him, he lost his final battle on Friday, November 24th, with his wife, Kim, his son, Cole and his mother, Debby by his side.

Craig was most content when in the drivers seat, whether it be in the woods on his ATV or on the lake in his boat. From the time he was young every friend on the street would bring their bicycles to Craig to be fixed. This continued in his garage with dirt bikes, ATV’s and anything with wheels.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years, Kim (Caldwell); son, Cole, who made him so proud; mother, Debby; brother, Korey (Katherine); three nephews, Jared, Owen (Erika) and Lukas, to whom he was a fun uncle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Heather Caldwell; brother-in-law, Shawn Caldwell; along with numerous aunts, uncles and especially cousins who loved him very much.

He was predeceased by his father, Allan Richardson; maternal grandparents, Cecil and June McIntyre; and paternal grandparents, Jack and Betty Richardson.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to Amber Phillips and the Palliative Care Unit in Windsor and to the special nurses on floor 5A at the Victoria General Hospital.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 27. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Father Tom Henderson officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre, whereafter all are welcome to attend the interment in Ste. Croix Cemetery. Donations in memory of Craig may be made to Hants Community Hospital Palliative Care, 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
