Obituary of Robert John Gordon Elliott
Age 73, of Woodville, Hants Co., passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Annapolis Royal and raised in Hants County, he worked for more than thirty years as a heavy equipment operator. For him, his greatest accomplishment was his family. He treasured moments shared, traditions and celebrations - all served up with great food.
In later years, kidney disease and cancer eroded his body, but many remember him tall and broad-shouldered, with a full head of auburn Elvis-styled hair. He was an avid car lover, especially luxury sports and antique cars. He taught himself to play guitar at a young age and he enjoyed old rock and country music. He could still recall in detail watching the Ed Sullivan show when the Beatles headlined. He had a beautiful, genuine heart and he loved to read, learn about the latest technology and debate the news of the day.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elva; daughters, Annette (Chris) and Pam (Calvin); son, Robert (Rachael); grandchildren, Kyle, Madison, Georgia, Sierra, Courtney, Dallas, Christian; great-grandson, Landyn and fur babies, Bella and Lilbit. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley Elliott and Jean Harvie.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). At his request, there is no formal service. Donations in memory of Robert may be made to your local SPCA. Please think of a good memory and raise a glass to him.
