Obituary of Ramona Annalisa Lunn

It is with great sadness that we the family, inform you that at the young age of 57, Ramona passed away at home, in Upper Falmouth, with her family by her side, on Friday, August 25, 2023. Born in Grand Forks, B.C., on June 20, 1966, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Murphy) Spear.

She was a loving life force and will always be remembered for her ready smile, infectious laugh and huge heart. Her love and kindness affected everyone she met. Ramona was loved by many and will forever be missed. She never asked for anything as she was happy to just be around family enjoying a day of laughter and hearing her grandchildren play. Her main focus in life was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren, right up until her last day she worried and cared for her family.

Ramona worked at the Windsor Bowling Alley for many years and loved every minute of it. Seeing everyone in the leagues and all of her other family, as to her everyone she met was family.

Ramona is survived by her loving husband, Gary Lunn; daughter, Nicole (Wayne) Burgoyne; sons, Ian (Sheena) and Tyler (Maranda); grandchildren, Aidan and Lily Burgoyne, Caleb and Colton Lunn and Rebecca and Ethan Lunn; brothers, Roy (Maureen) Spear, Gordon Spear, Richard Spear and Arthur Spear; brothers-in-law, Matthew (Kim) Lunn, Rick (Pauline) Lunn, Tony (Charlene) Lunn, Michael (Judy) Lunn; sisters-in-law, Joan (JP) Maurais, Tammy Lunn, Joan Sherman, Carroll Sherman; chosen sister, Sheryll Barker (Tony Kelsey); several nieces, nephews and cousins, who all loved and cared for her and will miss her deeply.

Besides her parents, Ramona was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law, Randolph Sherman and Louise (Dykens) Lunn; brothers-in-law, Victor Lunn, Donald Lunn, Randolph Sherman and Jerry Sherman; sister-in-law, Helena Lunn and Ruthie McInnis.

After being diagnosed with stage four cancer, she fought an amazing fight for 18 months and never once complained, so now is her time to rest in peace free from any pain and sadness.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Friday, September 1, from 1-4 p.m., at Ramona’s home, 522 Sangster Bridge Road, Upper Falmouth. The family requests no flowers but instead ask that donations in memory of Ramona be made to The Canadian Cancer Society – Nova Scotia Division, 5826 South St., Halifax, NS B3H 1S6.
