Sydney, I want to send sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Mom. She will always be remembered with fondness and respect by all of us who worked with her, side by side, in the retail business. I have so many great memories of her and her dedication to Pinocchio's. She loved you so much.

My heart is aching with the passing of dear Diane. She had the ability to light up the room when she entered.
i only knew Diane for a few years, however in a way, it felt as if I had always known her.
I am sending my heartfelt sympathy and love to Diane’s siblings, daughters, friends and very much loved grand children.
You are in my heart, Diane.

I wish to express my sincere condolences to you and your extended family for the sad loss of Diane.
When I was a young single mother in Charlottetown in the late 80’s and early 90’s Diane was always a beacon of class and decency that I appreciated and aspired to. I used to go into her store, Pinocchio’s from time to time looking for something special for my little girl to wear. Nearly all my daughter’s clothes at that time came from friends and second hand stores but once in awhile I would save to get something special from Diane’s store. Diane knew I had little money and she knew how much it meant for me to get something special for Hannah, my daughter. The times I went to buy she knew how much it meant for me to have something nice for my daughter and she always gave me a deep discount. She never made an issue of it she just gave me the dress for little or no profit. She treated me with respect and made me feel good about wanting something nice for my child. She truly understood my circumstances and always fussed over my girl making me feel good about her generosity and kindness. She was beautiful inside and out. Thank you Diane for treating me and many others with dignity and kindness. I was always slightly in awe of her physical and spiritual beauty. She was a woman’s woman through and through.

Hi Sandra,
My name is Sydney, and I am one of Diane's daughters. I was born in the mid 90's and spent much of my childhood at Pinocchio's. I wanted to reach and out and say thank you for sharing your memories of our mom. During the moments where I miss her more than can be described, I often reflect on your words and remember that her kindness lives on in everyone she touched. So thank you, Sandra, for sharing such beautiful words.

She was the absolute best bar none. Smart, funny, hard working, tough,
strong, good looking and more. She had it all and was one of the best
friends a person could have. I will sorely miss her friendship and guidance.
She could see through people like nobodies business and called them as
they were. If Diane was in your corner you knew it. I could say more but
sufficient words escape me and would be redundant anyways. Goodbye Diane and thank you for your lovely friendship over the years.

My sincere condolences to Diane's daughters, grandchildren and other family members, especially Mary
I know she enjoyed your visits
I had the pleasure of working with Diane at the Root Cellar
We shared alot of laughs and long after we retired we would get together for lunch / coffee and laughs
I was so saddened to hear of Diane's passing
She was enjoying her retirement doing all the things she enjoyed and never had time while working and raising her daughters
I guess our Lord needed another leader /organizer with a sense of humor so hopefully she will continue her pleasures in heaven with her loved ones and friends
Fly high with the Angels Diane
RIP

Diane managed 2 Root Cellar locations during her time with me. She did so with the same care she would give to her own business. She also nurtured the staff and myself like a mother which was extra comforting when I lost my own at 62 yoa. Diane smiled easily and engaged you with her twinkling eyes. I admired Diane’s ability to be content and nurture her interests like her knitting, rug hooking and beloved dogs as they explored nature together. I cherish the times I have had with my 2 Dianes -both managers and who stayed good friends. I last saw Diane in April in my store where our relationship started and we were both wearing brown and I had an extra big urge to hug her and suggest we get a photo of us twinning. There was a sweet tenderness to our exchange and makes you wonder if on some level we know the importance of some meetings without any new information. She shared a photo of the beauty of her final home with her daughters and seemed very much at peace in her surroundings. I love her and will miss her. May all of her beauty live on in her daughters and grandchildren❤️
