Obituary of Verna Doris Hartt

Age 83, of Falmouth, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on April 6, 1940 she was a daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Barker) Foley.

Verna loved reading, TV Bingo, her home and yard, watching the birds and feeding them and she was an avid “yardsaler,” which is something she has passed the love of onto Tracey. She was a spitfire with a heart of gold, she would give anything and everything she could to others. The love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family was her greatest pleasure.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald; daughter, Tracey (Kevin) Johnson; grandchildren, Melanie (Stephen) Turner; James (Irna) Johnson and Elizabeth (Jeff) Miller; great-grandchildren, Iris Miller, Kimmy Johnson and River Turner (predeceased); sisters, Betty Hazel and Bonnie (Mike) Collins; brother, William (Doreen) Foley; sister-in-law, Donna Foley; several nieces, nephews and many extended family members.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Norman Foley.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cathryn Smith and the nursing staff of Unit 200 at Hants Community Hospital, for the exceptional care provided to Mom and our family during her short time there.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
