Obituary of Charles Daniel Franklin

Age 65, of Windsor, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Charles was born in Halifax, to the late Daniel and Elizabeth “Betty” (Lang) Franklin on February 13, 1958.

Charles attended Dartmouth High School where he did not graduate, but went on to further his education at Dartmouth Vocational School, earning a certificate as an electrician. He worked as an electrician for IBEW for 40 years. On his off-time, he enjoyed racing, golfing and watching hockey.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann (Wheatley); sons, Thomas (Rachel) and Charles (Tracey); grandchildren, Keenan, Hunter, Rita and Ryan; sister, Lisa Franklin and brother, Daniel.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). The family will receive visitors to celebrate Charles on Wednesday, January 24 anytime between 2 and 4 p.m., in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Charles be made to a charity of one’s choice.
