Dear Bruce, Craig, and Aaron and families,
Please accept my deepest condolences. It was with great sadness that I read Bev’s obituary in Wednesday’s paper. What a tribute to a wonderful person that so many people have commented on how she influenced their lives and how much they loved her. I, too, am grateful for the year that she kept house for me so I could go back to teaching. Bev was a wonderful, positive person, so kind and outgoing. I felt very comfortable leaving my children in her capable hands. Her work ethic was phenomenal. I was thrilled when she received her B. Ed. and fulfilled her dream of becoming a classroom teacher. The many people she touched in this way were very lucky. She will never be forgotten.

Windsor has lost one of its finest! Fond memories of "Ms. Lake" from Timothy's elementary days as well as yard sales and auxiliaries. A lady who exuded care and compassion towards others, she was very tenderhearted and approachable! When we lost our daughter just before Christmas (2013) she sought us out at the Windsor El. Christmas concert; people like this, you do not forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. A truly wonderful lady!

I remember teaching at Windsor Elementary when Bev was there on staff. She was a vibrant and caring person and she was such a great teacher to her students and a great colleague to the staff. I enjoyed teaching her children and was delighted to discover that she was the grandmother of two delightful students I taught at KCA when I was teaching there. I know Bev was proud of her children and grandchildren and they were such a delight for her. I am saddened to hear of Bev's passing. Condolences to all of you who have lost a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

I’m heartbroken by the loss of Bev, my dearest friend on this earth for over 50 years. Our meeting in Halifax while we were boarding at the same place while going to school started our life long friendship. Living in different provinces we didn’t get to see each other as often as we would like but with new technology we were able to chat almost daily talking about our family's, shared interests and even what the weather was for the day. I’m going to miss that so much. I’ll be forever thankful that I was able to spend a few hours with Bev before her passing and having her be able to acknowledge that she knew I was there will be a gift I will forever cherish. Bev will be dearly missed by her many fiends in her church and community. Mike and I send our love and condolences to Bruce, Craig, Aaron and families. Thinking of you all through these difficult days. With much Love, Linda

Devastated to hear of Bev's untimely passing. Bev and I first met in the delivery ward of Payzant Memorial Hospital in August of 1950 born three days apart, and always referred to ourselves as 'birthday twins'. Our paths crossed again at WRHS in Grade 12 then Grade 12 Commercial with Kay Anslow and a lifelong friendship ensued, including many WRHS get togethers yearly at local eating establishments. She exuded life, love, fast friendships, joy, laughter and a zest for fun and will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Rest well my dear friend. You will never be forgotten and forever loved. Sincere condolences to Bruce and all Bev's family.

Sincerest condolences to Bevs family. I’m shocked to see she has passed away as I had not heard she had been in hospital. We were neighbours on Tremain Crescent for many years, so very sad

Bev, Ms. Lake. She was a constant kind presence in my life. I was a very shy kid but I felt connected to her in her class. Everytime I saw her around town she had a big smile and hug fir me. When I decided to be a teacher she encouraged and supported me. She will be deeply missed. I'll hug a student for her.

I am so sad for the loss of a dear friend and wonderful colleague. The lives of so many students were enriched by Bev’s kindness and dedication. She loved her family fiercely, and was so proud of each of you! Bev was strong in her faith, and committed to serving her community.

Dear Bruce and Family,
I am so sorry for Bev’s passing. She was such a key mover in making Windsor El such a great and loving place to be a student and teacher. Her créative and welcoming posters that met you when you entered our school made all of us feel part of a great place to work. I remember meeting Bev on the street taking a walk just before the year she was hired at Windsor El. She was very nervous. I told her not to worry because she knew God wanted her to teach with us and she would do a great job. A companionate person like her was needed in our school. I hope she felt very satisfied with her work at school because she exceeded all expectations anyone had of her.
I know she will be missed by all of us who new her.

Bev was a great staff person. She had a quiet sense of humour and was always willing to do her part and beyond. She got great joy of working with her students. It was always obvious her love for her family and how proud she was of them- my condolences go out to them at this very sad time

To the family of one of the greatest teachers I’ve known,
It was a pleasure to work alongside Bev. Her compassion and wit were immeasurable and made me feel at home with the team even before my first day began at Windsor Elementary. She kept close contact in the years that followed, long after I’d moved from teaching there. She was genuine and charismatic, and loved by all.
I am deeply saddened that we have lost such a wonderful lady, one I will admire forever.
Condolences to each of you and please cherish the fond memories you have, as her spirit lives on.

Bruce and Family:
Bev was truly an amazing person we enjoyed our many conversations with her whether they be at school, at church or anywhere else you can think of. My Dad and Father-In Law Lawrence and Bev's Dad George were tremendous friends over the years. She will be so sorely missed. God bless -- Dan and Nancy Isnor-Boyd.
