Obituary of Carol Anne Cooper

We are saddened to announce the passing of Carol Anne Cooper, age 74, of Brooklyn, on Friday, March 29, 2024 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Carol Anne was born on December 1, 1949 in Corner Brook, NFLD, and was a daughter of the late Patrick and Anne (O'Keefe) Grant.

Carol Anne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. She was a kind soul, caring mother and loyal friend and had an amazing work ethic. Her selfless nature and devotion to helping others is a testament to the kind of person she was and will live on in our memories. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Carol Anne is survived by her husband, Clyde; son, Mark (Natalie); daughters, Karen (Shaun) and Janet; grandchildren, Kayla, Kali, Emma, Brandon and Logan; sisters, Patricia (Jim) Smith, Maureen (Dave) Haynes, Doris (Bill) Miles, Catherine (Gary) Devine, Sharon (Carl) Peach, Janet Noseworthy, Beverley (Mike) Brenchko, Michelle (Jack) Dempsey and Brenda (George) Buffett; brothers, Gary (Shirley) Grant and David (Jackie) Grant; sisters-in-law, Judy Sweetapple, Viola Petten, Marilyn (Frank) Shapleigh and Verna (Walter) Clarke; brothers-in-law, Leon (Judy), Wade (Susan) and Lawrence (Lu Chen).

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Diane Bedford, John Grant and Margaret “Peggy” McCarthy; sister-in-law, Vivian (Cooper) Clarke; brothers-in-law, Sid Sweetapple, Derrick Petten and Wayne Kelloway.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 in Windsor United Church, 613 King Street, Windsor, Rev. David Hann officiating. A reception will follow in the church annex. Interment will be held at a later date in Newport Landing Cemetery, Avondale. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol Anne’s memory may be made to the Hants Community Hospital Palliative Care, 89 Payzant Dr., Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
