Obituary of Stephen George Sampson
June 28th, 1957 – April 12th, 2024
In the comfort of his home, surrounded by those who loved him, Stephen’s time on earth ended.
As a young man, he met the love of his life Sharon, and they began their life together. With each other, they enjoyed a loyal and dedicated relationship, that through their commitment stood the test of time. He was fortunate to have been blessed with a son, Patrick, of whom he spent countless hours devoted to his upbringing. When Patrick reached adulthood, he met a wonderful woman named Sarah, who would later become Stephen’s daughter-in-law. Both shared many of the same qualities and enjoyed each others company. Through Patrick and Sarah, the next generation came to bear and he found his true purpose as grandfather to Abigail and Joseph. When not immersed in his immediate family, he enjoyed numerous good times on fishing excursions and hunts with his brother in-law, Michael.
With a tireless work ethic and mechanical inclination, he used these skills to always support and provide for his family. Never afraid to take on a challenge, he enjoyed many activities such as fishing and golf, as well as boating and going to concerts with his dedicated wife. Despite illness slowing him down toward the end, he never lost his optimistic attitude and those closest to him were able to hear his infectious laugh even when times became tough.
In his final years, he knew the end was coming. Regardless of this knowledge, he never relented to his illness, remaining positive and strong for the people around him. Setting aside his concerns, he chose to enjoy his remaining time, pouring his love into those that mattered most and making positive memories to sustain those left behind. With the battle behind him, his soul can now comfortably rest.
