Obituary of Geoffrey Parkyn Christopherson
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Geoff on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, with family by his side, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 68. Residing in Falmouth, he was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 3, 1956 and he was the son of the late Beth (Dawson) Christopherson.
Geoff was a huge Detroit Red Wings Fan as well as an avid golfer. He was an enthusiastic hockey Dad and Granddad loving to watch all the games that he was able to. His life may have been short but he lived it to the fullest enjoying every day to the max. He loved his family immensely, especially Pam. Geoff loved to travel and he and Pam enjoyed many small trips around Nova Scotia last year. His memory will live on in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Pam (Frank); daughter, Amy (Josh) Schofield; sons, Andrew and David (Zoë); grandchildren, Cohen, Jackson, Baylee, Stella and Gunnar; great-grandson, Mason; brothers-in-law, Steven (Annette) and Shawn (Mary Jo) Frank; aunts-in-law, Heather (Jim) Greeno, Charlene Foley and Wendy Brothers; as well as other extended family members.
Besides his mother, Geoff was predeceased by his in-law’s, Gordon and Barbara (Brothers) Frank.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Hants Community Hospital Emergency Dept., Dr. Drucker, the Chemo Unit at Valley Regional Hospital, the Radiation Oncology Dept. at the QEII, the QEII Emergency Dept., the doctors and nurses of 5.2 at the QEII, and family doctor, Dr. Nick Williams, for the amazing care that they all provided to Geoff during his illness.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where a funeral service celebrating Geoff’s life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 16 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Celebrant Helen Lindsay officiating. A private family interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Family flowers only, by request.
