Obituary of Marjorie Penney
Age 83, of Bedford, formerly of Sydney, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Northwood – Ivany Place, Bedford, after a lengthy fight with dementia. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Malcom “Gussie” and Marjorie (Auld) Walker.
Carol loved to sew and was an avid quilter. She was a piper for the Gaelic College Pipe Band in the 50’s and 60’s and was very passionate for Celtic music and tartan. Carol worked as a driving examiner for 34 years with the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation. She may be remembered by many who had her do their road test for having started the test by writing the word ASS/U/ME on her clip board and going over what it meant before they began.
Carol was the proud mother of Jennifer Penney (Alex), as well as grammy to her grand dogs, Bentley, Ryker and Belle. She leaves them to mourn along with sister, Sharon Adams (Murray); sister-in-law, Cathy Walker; nieces, Kimberly Doyle (Matthew) and Chantelle Walker (Mike); nephew, Glenn Adams (Kelly).
Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband, Edward “Ed”; brother, Kevin; best dog, Kaleigh and grand dogs, Seamus and Lola.
