Obituary of Arthur D. West

WEST, Arthur Douglas - 94, Fundy Villa, Berwick, formerly of Aylesford, Kings Co., and Rockingham, Halifax Co., passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Windsor Junction, on July 5, 1918, he was a son of the late Henry and Annie (MacPhee) West.Arthur in his younger years enjoyed fishing and time spent puttering at the family cottage. He worked as a highly respected sales representative. When retiring from Domtar, Arthur moved to Aylesford in 1982 with his wife, Edith. He was a long-standing member of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Auburn and much enjoyed the services and people there.Surviving are nieces, Judy Cranton, Shirley Mousseau, Linda Stiles, Vera Brown, Marilyn Smith, Barbara Pottie, Jean Gray and Myrna Boudreau; nephews, David, Kenneth and Donald Mallard. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Edith (Mallard) West; step-mother, Mable (Stone) West; brother, Russell; sister, Doris.Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). There will be visitation just prior to the funeral service that will take place at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, in the St. Mary's Anglican Church, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn. Rev. Maya Bevan officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
