Obituary of Grace Anne Millen

Age 71, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 27, 2024, in Northwood Halifax Campus. Born on January 26, 1953, in Simcoe, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Etta May (Gilroy) Ballantyne. Grace was the wife of the late Arthur “Art” Millen.

Grace is survived by daughter, Amanda (Scott) Flynn and grandchildren, Grace and Lillian Flynn and Justin Atkinson. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by daughter, Mary Atkinson and brothers, Bill and Keith Ballantyne.

Grace moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia to start a family. In her personal life, she enjoyed a good yard sale and her Sunday drives with Art. She loved animals and treated every one of them as a member of her family. Through her whole life she found joy in playing cards with everyone and anyone who would join her for a game.

The family would like to thank the team on the third floor of the Northwood Halifax Campus for their comfort and support given to Grace and her family through the past few months.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be a private celebration of life, for immediate family only, to be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Grace may be made to Northwood Halifax Campus, 2615 Northwood Terrace Halifax, NS B3K 3S5 or a charity of one’s choice.
