Obituary of Gwendolyn Lydia Gowerluk

Gwen passed away peacefully Sunday, November 3, 2024 at home with her daughter Colleen by her side in Windsor, Nova Scotia.

Born August 22 1936, she was a daughter of Lorna (Chastelaine) and Bill Grove of Selkirk, Manitoba.

She is survived by her son, Robert MacDonald; daughter, Colleen (Robert) Conrad; grandson, Arthur; her Gowerluk family, Betty, Cathy (John), and Kelly (Laura); grandchildren, Lindsay, Danielle, Rebecca, Holly, Adam,
Josh and Jarrett; brothers, Ronald (Barb) and Norman (Val); sisters, Marg and Gayle (Ted); sisters-in-law, Pat, Stella, Mariah and Anne.

Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Ronald Begg; daughter, Rhonda; son, Gordon Begg; her second husband, Harry Gowerluk; brothers, Ken, Ted, David and Dennis; sisters, Lorraine and Joan; sister-in-law, Donna; brothers-in-law, Dennis and Donald.

Gwen had many different journeys throughout her life. She trained as an LPN nurse, a profession she loved. She was an amazing cook, seamstress and maker of crafts. Gwen loved life, she loved to dance and her Harry would take her dancing every Saturday night. With Harry, she learned to play golf, curl and make wine.

We will miss Gwen’s wonderful infectious laugh and family spirit.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor, Nova Scotia (902-798-8317). A funeral service will be held at St. Clements Church in Selkirk, Manitoba at a later date. Donations in memory of Gwen may be made to a charity of your choice.
