Dear Stephen, Rannie, Richard et al,
I have learned through the family grapevine of your mother Ruby’s recent death. I send my condolences to all of you.
The last time I saw Ruby was during a visit to Mary Norman a couple of years before the pandemic. We drove to the Dykeland Lodge where your mother was staying.
As I was probably about 14 years old the last time your mother had seen me during a visit to Cape Breton, for sure she didn’t recognize me. Ruby did still remember me and my family’s occasional visits back then. All of you made the trek to Aunt Tena and Uncle Charlie’s farm for a big family get together. If was great fun for my sister Claire and I to finally meet and get to know our many cousins in Nova Scotia.
Mary and I had a pleasant visit with her the afternoon of our visit so many years later. We chatted about her life at Dykeland and different family members. Ruby was in good health and good spirits. She seemed genuinely pleased we had taken the time to visit her. Both Mary and I were happy to find her well.
I wish to add my sincere sympathy at this time of sadness due to the loss of your mother, Ruby. May she rest peacefully.
Sincere condolences,
Frances (MacDonald) Baker

On behalf of Margie Ann and myself I want to express our sincere sympathy to Stephen, Rannie and Richard and their families on the passing of their beloved Mother. The memories I have of your Mom go back to the days when you boys were quite young and your parents would bring you all to Cape Breton for visits. Those were indeed good times well worth remembering.
Sincerely
Margie Ann and Rannie

My deepest sympathies on the passing of your mom. I remember visiting often as a kid and sitting on the stone steps leading up to the road. I often dream of being in your house and playing with Marlene. I have fond memories of your mom and dad. Sending love and prayers to you all.

So sorry for your loss. I loved her. It was always fun when we went to Norm and Ruby's place and had family gatherings. The old movies were always fun to watch and we had lots of laughs. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you.
