My heart is saddened by the loss of Peter. I have known him since I was a youngster in the neighborhood and through the church community. Peter gave his all in anything he was involved in and I will miss his smile and compassion for those around him.

Karen & family - It is with much sadness that I hear of Peter’s passing. We had so many long chats over the years and I think on any subject out there. We had a good many laughs and I will not forget him. For many years you guys called me on my birthday and Peter would sing “Happy Birthday” to me, he was quite the character. Karen you jokingly called me his girlfriend, well I referred to him as my boyfriend! Rest in Peace Peter.

When I saw the name Rowlands in the obituary this morning I immediately thought; could that be Peter Rowlands and of course it was. The next thought was is it my Peter Rolands? So I came here to confirm more details. My Peter was from England, by way of Nova Scotia, did well drilling, and lived in my house when he boarded with my parents on Pennywell Rd in St. John’s around 1960/61. I was around 11/12 years old that summer when my parents bought me my first bicycle. Peter took me up to the field behind the local grocery store and taught me how to ride it. I can still remember him running alongside me, telling me what to do and steadying the seat under me. I have never forgotten Peter Rowlands. I am sure lots of people have equally happy memories of him. Danny Dyke, Dartmouth.
