Obituary of Wava Bernice Pickwell

Age 95, of Windsor, passed away peacefully in Dykeland Lodge, on Saturday, December 28, 2024, one month shy of her 96th birthday. Born on January 28, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Dollie (Ells) Jodrey and the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Wava attended the Mac Business College and became a bookkeeper. She went on to be employed with the Port Williams Fruit Company and Archibald Farms Egg Grading Plant, also in Port Williams.  

She is survived by step-daughter, Vivien Pickwell-Fraser; special nephew, Brad Jodrey, as well as several additional nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, John Pickwell; step-son, Gale Pickwell; brothers, John, Ross, Clayton and Wilfred Jodrey; sisters-in-law, Maude “Birdie”, Lois, Elva “June” and Joyce Jodrey.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Dykeland Lodge.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor, NS (902-798-8317). There will be no service by family request. A private family burial will be held in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.
