So sorry to learn of Ellen's passing. I first knew Ellen before she was married and she boarded at Mrs. O'lLeary's as did my great aunt Ruth Smith. Then when my mother, Jerry Smith, moved to Centennial Apts on Tremain Crescent she and Ellen became good friends. They played cribbage together at the Legion and Ellen would often call Mom and they would go for a drive to Bishopville or up the Valley & have a meal and a game of cards with some of Ellen's family. We moved to BC in December and were just home for 8 days to get most of the things we left behind. I wanted to go see Ellen but never made it. I hope you all have good memories of Ellen as I do of my Mom and her friendship with Ellen. Sincere condolences.

Thinking back over the years and all the fond memories together. From her days at Stedmans, next to our restaurant, having many visits to our cottage and now, home in Martin's River (at least 3 seasons of the year). She was a close friend and we enjoyed each others company. Very glad Ann and I got in the week before to have a little visit.I will miss our phone chats. Our Sympathies to all.-Josephine

Having many fond memories' of dinner party's at the house with Ellen and Basil, with Mom and Dad visiting and me with my coloring book. Ellen would remind me of that almost each time we saw each other. My favorite memory is of the flapjacks she used to make me, sitting on the kitchen stool. Once on my way back to Kingstec I stopped by to ask if she'd make me some, which she did. We had a great laugh over that.I was glad we got to see her Easter weekend, but sad I knew it would be the last time. May you all remember those happy times and take comfort in God's peace. God bless, Love, Ann
