Obituary of Malcolm Allison Patterson

Age 83, of Hantsport, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at home. Born December 25, 1930 in West Apple River, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Freeman and Jennie (McWhirter) Patterson.Malcolm worked at Minas Basin for 43 years as a boiler operator. He was also a loving parent who loved to have children around him. He belonged to the Hantsport Baptist Church for many years. Malcolm is the last surviving member of his immediate family.He is survived by sons, Douglas (Linda), Oromocto, New Brunswick and Wayne (Bev), St. Croix; daughters, Dona (Raymond) Peach, Falmouth and Lana (Bob) Shay, Hantsport; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, the former Daisy M. Moore (October 6, 2013); daughter, Jennie; brothers, Leslie, Millard, Emerson, Freeman and Reginald and Edward in infancy; sisters, Gertie Patterson, Elizabeth McCuspey, Christenna White and Myrtle McCully.Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will receive visitors from 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 18. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 19 in Hantsport Baptist Church (corner of Main and Willow Streets), Rev. Mark Hunter officiating. Interment will be held in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport, followed by a reception in the Church Fellowship Hall.
