Obituary of Annie Lucilla Barbara Brown

BROWN, Annie Lucilla Barbara Age 90, formerly of Ellershouse, passed away peacefully March 30, 2015 in Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. Born November 24, 1924 in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Laura (Tanner) Watson. She is survived by her children, Leanna Murphy, Corey (Sheila), Kathy Hartt (Percy), Marilyn (John) Smith, Raymond (Trudy), Richard (Linda), Joyce (Jim) McConkey, Timothy (Mary Lou), Andrew, Laura (Brian) Caldwell, 35 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Keith) MacInnis; brother, Herman; sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Dolores. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Raymond; daughter, Barbara Noreen Sutherland (Douglas); grandson, Kevin, as well as three other grandchildren; sister, Nellie, brothers, Norman and Leslie. Annie's life was her family. She was always ready to help in time of need. Our family was blessed to have Annie as a role model as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Along with her eleven children, she raised three granddaughters and a great grandson as her own, Courtnay, Corrina, Cayla and Braydon. We would like to say a special thank you to the staff and many friends at the Windsor Elms for the kindness and care shown to our mother. A funeral service celebrating Annie's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Chaplain Shelley Illsley-Martin officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre.
