Obituary of Elaine Beatrice Rousseau

Age 82, of Grandview Manor, Berwick, formerly of Aylesford, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 20, 2015. Born in Marshalltown, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Angeline (Langdale) Comeau. Elaine worked as a postal worker in Ottawa, a hostess at the Rodeo Room, Greenwood and as a nursing assistant at the Sanatorium in Kentville and Seaforths Nursing Home, Morristown and Berwick. Above all else Elaine's children were her inspiration and greatest accomplishment. She loved her family unconditionally. Elaine enjoyed walking, knitting, cooking, listening to country and gospel music and spending time with all her family. Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Paul; son, Terry (Debby); daughters, Jackie (Gerald Veinot) and Debbie (Gary) Lowe; grandchildren, Nicole (Hugh) Rudderham, Christopher and Keera Rousseau; Natasha Rousseau; Stevi (Jason) Walker and Nathan Lowe; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Santisha, Alexander, Isabell, Erica, Brayden, Kaiden and Brody; brothers, Frank (Marie), Doug (Nancy) and Kirk Comeau; sisters, Audrey Finlayson; Virginia Comeau (Gord); Carolyn (Jerry) Goulet. She was predeceased by brother, Fred "Sonny"; sisters, Joyce Boylan and Barb Stratten; grandson, Shawn Rousseau and her beloved dog, Bear. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, P.O. Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25 in the assembly room at Grand View Manor, 110 Commercial Street, Berwick, Chaplain Rev. Sarah Scott officiating. Private family burial will be held in Aylesford Union Cemetery, Hwy 1 Aylesford. Guests are welcome to gather at the Aylesford and District Fire Hall for a reception that will follow the family burial. Family flowers only by request.
