Dear Mary, Bernie and family: I was so very sad when I went to work last Sunday and found out your Dad had passed away. Bert was a true gentleman who had a very gentle soul. He was a proud man, but a humble man as well, He served our country and he was so proud of that accomplishment. His eyes had a special glow in them on Remembrance Day, so proud of his metals.
Your loss is great but that is why God gave us memories, hold onto them tightly and I pray that it will bring you comfort as you grieve the loss of your loved one.
Everyday that I went in to see him, I would say 'how are you doing today Bert" and he always answered "pretty good for an old feller" and then give this little snide chuckle.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, I am going to really miss him, Take care and God bless you all.

We were sorry to hear of Bert's passing. Several years ago we lived in the apartment upstairs in Bert & Jean's home. They treated us like gold and every week we would receive a fresh loaf of Bert's wonderful homemade bread. We have many fond memories of living in their home.
