Obituary of Allen Henry Pemberton
Please share a memory of Allen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deep sadness and great love we announce the passing of our Father. Age 87, of Halifax, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in St. Croix, Hants County, he was a son of the late Henry and Doris (Sharpe) Pemberton.
Dad was a loving and dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and recently a great great grandfather. He was an owner operator of trucks for over 50 years, working for Seaboard Transport in later part of his career. He loved working, a great meal, family gatherings, long drives, country music and socializing with his peers to talk trucks and catch up on the news of the day. Dad was a cat and dog lover who nurtured many pets in his life time. He believed in giving back to the community and supported the United Church, Salvation Army and Kids Help Line.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother David and wife Gloria (Smith) Pemberton. He is survived by his son, Charles (Linda); daughters Rhonda Hennigar, Sharon Rutland; grandchildren, Ian, Shawn, Jason, Tracey, Joanne; great grandchildren, Jessica, Hannah, Ken, Vince, Adyson; great great grandson Nathan; brothers, Bill (Faye), Jim; sister Kaye (Doug) Killian.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS BON 2T0 (902-798-8317), where a service will be held on Thursday, January 7, at 1 pm, Rev.
