Obituary of Stanley Lamont Parker

Formerly of Greenhill, Hants Co., passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Melville Lodge, Halifax, at the age of 86. Born on February 20, 1929 he was a son of the late Lamont and Blanche (Canavan) Parker. Stanley was a self-employed truck driver and woodsman. In his younger years he enjoyed visiting his in-laws in Vermont, USA. He continued to enjoy his time travelling and sight-seeing on weekends. He is survived by his wife, the former Elaine Mary Thorpe; children, Leonard (Donna), Ernie (Gail) and Lorraine (Stephen Jackson); grandchildren, Kim, Tony, Jennifer and Ryan; three great-grandchildren; sister, Audrey (Stewart) and brother, James. Besides his parents, Stanley was predeceased by daughter, Brenda Jean and sister, Jean. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A private family graveside service will be held in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Brooklyn.
