Dr. Irena Jurewicz-Markiewicz passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2016 at the age of 96 at Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth. She was born August 18, 1919 in Karków, Poland to Maria and Mieczys?aw Dunin-Markiewicze. She is survived by daughter, Teresa and son-in-law, Wieslaw; grandchildren, Michal Machel and Magdalena (Mike) Montgomery and great grandchildren, Nate and Hugo Montgomery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will greet visitors for a time of fellowship and refreshments on Friday, February 12, from 3-5pm in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Funeral service will take place at 11 am Saturday, February 13 in St Anthony's Catholic Church, 26 Courtney Rd., Dartmouth, Br. Nathanael DesRoches Deacon, Father Dariusz Misiolek officiating. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Irena may be made to any charity.
