Obituary of Richard Carman Strong

The time has come for me to say goodbye to my soul mate, best friend and husband, and for all of you to say goodbye to your friend, father, and brother. Rick was an Optician in Nova Scotia for 35 years. He made friends everywhere, laughed well, had a huge heart and would help anyone he could in any way he could. He brought a richness to everyone he met. He had many hobbies over the years and gave his all to each and every one of them, from his roleplaying type games, computer games and computer programming, card playing and his last great loves, ATVing and music. Music always filled his life but the last 13 years included playing drums and bass, and producing CDs in his own music studio. He has changed so many of our lives, and mine the most. I will be lost without him. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred “Junior” and Polly Strong. He leaves behind his wife, Sindy; children, Kirk and Marci; brother, Kim; sisters, Susan and Lisa. For all of us there will always be a hole in our lives where Rick once was. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317), where the family will greet visitors for a time of fellowship and refreshments on Thursday, March 3, between the hours of 6-8 pm in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre.
