Obituary of Terry Stuart Miller

MILLER, Terry Stuart The Toronto Maple Leafs lost their biggest fan in the passing of Terry Miller. Terry passed away suddenly and peacefully on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his home in Falmouth surrounded by his loving family. Born in Windsor on December 28, 1948, he was a son of the late Willis and Delina (McCulloch) Miller. Terry just recently retired from Titan Construction a couple of months ago. He enjoyed just sitting in his garage by the stove with a beer in hand. The garage was his "man cave" and he would often be found listening to Saturday Night Classics, watching a good ball or hockey game and entertaining friends. His garage was always open for company. Any time his grandchildren came to visit it was an added highlight to his day. Terry was very active in sports over the years, especially in baseball with his team the "Miller's Mistakes". He really knew how to pick his teams with the Atlanta Braves and his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, the former Geraldine Allen; son, Sean, Rothesay, NB; daughter, Julie (Wade), Garlands Crossing; his beloved grandchildren, Tarryn, Hudsyn, Lynzie, Ryan and Kyle and great granddaughter, Emma; brother, Don (Diane), Windsor Forks; sister, Sharon (and the late Hughie) Maynard, Martock; brothers and sister-in-law, Ramona (Roger), Brenda (Jimmy), David (Anna), Donna (Stephen) and Robin (Alison); as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Terry was predeceased by his sister, Sandra (Paul) Jones (June 16, 2016); his father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Jean Allen. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 22. A funeral service celebrating Terry's life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23 in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Interment for family and close friends will immediately follow in Centre Falmouth Cemetery. A reception will be held in the funeral home's Elmcroft Reception Centre. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Terry may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, 5657 Spring Garden Rd., Box 245, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4.
