BARTLETT, Gayle Marie
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gayle, age 54, of Falmouth, Hants Co., on Sunday, July 17, 2016 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with family and friends by her side. Born in Windsor, she was the daughter of Gwendolyn "Gwen" (Parker) and the late Beverley "Bev" Milner.
Gayle was a wonderful, caring, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, co-worker and friend to all who knew her. Her beautiful smile always lit up the room when she walked in. For 35+ years Gayle worked as a hair dresser in the Windsor area. In the last number of years she was the co-owner of Shear Illusion. If you sat in her chair as a first time client, you always left as a friend. She loved drives in her mustang on hot sunny days, with the top down, wind blowing in her hair and the music loud. Gayle looked forward to her many days spent with Emily and the many memories that they shared together, Emily became the light of her life. She was looking forward to making memories with Baby Katelyn when she arrived, as well. Gayle will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege to know her. She will be forever in our hearts. Heaven has gained another angel who has become our guardian angel and will watch over us.
Besides her mother, Gayle is survived by loving and devoted husband of 34 years, John; daughters, Sarah (Ryan) Parker and Holly (Steven) Nielsen; granddaughters, Emily Parker and Katelyn Nielsen (due to arrive in October); brothers, David (Valerie), Peter (Corey Casey), and half brother, Pat (Val) Hudgins; half sister, Heather Hudgins (Steve).
Gayle had a wonderful team of medical professionals on her side. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Kazmiriski and his staff and to Amber Phillips from the Palliative Care Team. Special thank you also, for the over whelming support shown to Gayle and the family over the last several months, from family, friends and complete strangers. Words cannot express how grateful we are. This kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A casual service celebrating Gayle's life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 25 in the Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County Branch No. 009, upstairs, Rev. Rob Heffernan officiating. At the request of Gayle's family everyone in attendance please dress in bright coloured, casual clothing. A time of fellowship, storytelling and refreshments will immediately follow. A private family interment will be held in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gayle may be made to the trust fund that was set up for Gayle at any RBC branch, that will now be held for her grandchildren in their future education.
