To the friends and Family of Ruth, I am so very sorry for your loss. Ruth was a large part of my life while growing up on Greenhill Road. She was a frequent visitor to my family home always sharing a laugh, story, love of life, music, animals. I have so many fond memories that I cannot even scratch the surface in this little letter. Even though I moved away, she was always in my mind and heart.
She was a woman larger than life with the personality to boot. I love Ruth. She was an inspiration to me while growing up and will forever be a part of who I am today. Goodbye my friend. May you freely roam beautiful pastures with the vibrant health like I remember you with your horses, dogs and mules (or were they donkeys *smile*).
Fond memories of you always.

Ruth and I shared lots of laughs during the years we both lived in Ferguson's Cove.
Some emergencies too! Could we move the yellow Mercedes down the icy
hill for her?? It was half-way down and in the middle of the road! There were a
couple of Afghan Hound situations too. We will remember her fondly and extend
sincere sympathy to family and friends. Cheryl & Faisal

To Ruth's family
We were sorry to read that Ruth had passed away and want to express our condolences.
One of our greatest pleasures was to sing in St. John's United Church choir while Ruth was the organist and choir director there. We had many good times over those years. And when she opened her music store, she really filled a gap in the Halifax music market.
Our deepest sympathies to the family.

My condolences on the passing of Ruth. "Miss Lawley" was my choir director (40+ yrs ago) at St. John's United, Hfx, where she started the junior choir.
She was very patient of my off key singing. Still remember the look of joy on her face when I actually was able to sing a hymn on key!
The music and animals worlds will certainly miss her presence and contributions.
Keep the good memories close,
Cynthia

I want to send sincere condolences to Ruth's family and friends.
Ruth was a Visionary, a tough Cape Bretoner who I admired tremendously.
She was one of the great leaders in the early days of the Nova Scotia Choral Federation, and her decisions to 'think big' and to bring in the very best, internationally, for Nova Scotia choral musicians, led to the whole province leading the way nationally in adult, youth and children's choral education, learning from the best in the world.
Ruth was fearless and undaunted in her vision and belief to bring the best to Nova Scotia.
Without her drive and enthusiasm for setting the bar in those opening days of the Nova Scotia Chora Federation, many lives would not have been enhanced as they were, and many important careers may well have had a different ending.
Thank you, Ruth, for all you did for us all, and Rest in Peace.

Ruth was a great friend to André and myself over the years. She was kind and compassionate, frank and honest. A truer person could never be found. She was a great lady who will be remembered by many and missed by all who have ever had the pleasure of knowing her. A jewel of many facets, never allowing a dull moment.
