Obituary of John Wilson Banfield

BANFIELD, John Wilson (Jack) - 80, Ellershouse, formerly of Mount Uniacke, Hants Co., NS. A kind and gentle man passed away on April 26, 2012. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Gordon and Minnie (Mosher) Banfield. Before retiring Jack was Purchasing Manager at IMP Group and Expediter at Fairy Aviation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and outdoor activities and was happiest when he was working with his hands as a handyman and carpenter.Surviving Jack are his wife, Shirley (Dupres) (Tufts); sons, David (Crystal); Kenneth (Winnie); step-sons, Michael (Laurinda); Gregory (Sherry); and Kenneth (Lauren) Tufts; step-daughter, Helen Tufts; sister, Gladys (Jim Libby); brother, George; several grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces and nephews. Jack was predeceased by his first wife, Jean (Drake); sisters, Thomasina Nichol and Marguerite Rhymes; brothers, Arthur,  Russell and Roy. The family wish to thank the staff of the Hants Community Hospital.Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317).  In keeping with Jack's wishes, there will be no visitation.
