WILE, Ellis Cecil
Age 61, of Lower Vaughan, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, with his family by his side. Born June 12, 1955 he was a son of the late Cecil and Kay Wile.
Ellis, a man of many talents, worked as an Iron Worker for the Halifax Shipyards for 35 years. During layoffs he enjoyed driving trucks for various companies as well as welding and fabricating for his side business, Ellis C. Wile Mobile Welding. His volunteer contributions to his community rivaled his paid work. He was heavily involved in the Southwest Hants Fire Society and construction of the fire station in Vaughan. Prior to its opening he proudly, with his son, joined Windsor Fire Department as a Volunteer Fire Fighter and Driver. He was well known for his story telling and lending a helping hand to all he met. Even though he worked hard and long hours and gave a lot of his time to others, his family always came first. A devoted Husband, Father, Pappy, Son and Brother, he was always there to help, sometimes before we even knew we needed it. Becoming Pappy to Becca, Sophie and Piper brought him the greatest joy. Lots of love, cuddles and tickle times were had and will be dearly missed. Later in life he found time to reward himself with a Harley Davidson which allowed more family and friend time especially with Judy, Shawn and Ryan.
Ellis is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy (Dorey); daughter, Alicia; son, Ryan (Jennifer); granddaughters, Rebecca, Sophie and Piper; sisters, Heather, Lois and Debbie; brothers, Kevin and Floyd.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Catherine; brother, Blaine; and son-in-law, Shawn Eagles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A private family graveside will be held at a later date in New Ross Anglican Church Cemetery.
