Obituary of Marie Salsman

SALSMAN (Murphy), Marie "Joan" - 64, Berwick West, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012, in the Q.E. II, VG Site, Halifax. Born on August 23, 1947, in Berwick, she was the only daughter of the late George L. and Audrey L. (Murphy) Murphy.Joan had worked in the dietary department of the W.K.M. Hospital and was later employed at the Berwick Bakery and M.W. Graves Ltd., Berwick. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing cards (45's) and attending bingo games.Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Arthur M. Salsman; sons, Christopher (Tara) and Jason, all of Berwick West; her first grandchild due in October; sister-in-law, Reta Swindell, Coldbrook; aunt, Elsie Wagstaff, Aylesford; uncle, Percy (Helen) Foster, Aylesford East. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Paul Swindell.Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). There will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Monday, May 21, in Christ Anglican Church, 238 Commercial St., Berwick. Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to the Valley Regional Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
