Age 55, of Windsor and Middle Sackville passed away peacefully, on Thursday, July 6, 2017. Born in Windsor on November 24, 1961 she was the first born daughter of the late Richard and Beverly Ann (Swinamer) McCann.
Missy spent many years working as an Educational Assistant for the AVRSB. She loved her school kids and her work because it gave her the chance to help lots of young people and she did just that! Missy also had a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing at church or weddings or just around the house. She had a voice that anyone who's ever heard it could never forget. Above all things missy loved her family, especially her three children, her grandchildren and her special friend, Bill Drummond.
She is survived by sons, Joshua (Mallory), Hantsport; Christopher, Windsor; daughter, Kate (Troy), Windsor; grandchildren, Kenedi Macleod, Quinn, Haidyn and John Mackenzie Smith; brother, Chris McCann (Greg), Cleveland, Ohio and sister, Jennifer McCann (Chris), Windsor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor, NS (902-798-8317). A funeral service celebrating Missy's life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, in DeMont Family Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Chris McCann officiating. A private family burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. A reception will immediately follow in the Three Mile Plains Community Hall, 4474 Hwy 1, Three Mile Plains. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Missy may be made to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, 300 Pleasant St, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 3Z9.
