Dear Aunt Arlie, Brad, Lori and families, I have so many happy memories of Uncle Don. He was such a presence and loved life to the fullest. I remember the fun times at the cottage, when he would tease us and unforgettable deep "belly laugh". He was always so much fun to be around when the family all got together. When Dad passed away you were all such a great support for our family. Jan and I enjoyed our trips to Missassauga when we would come with Nan for a visit. Uncle Don and Aunt Arlie always made us feel at home and made sure we had all the "goodies" we wanted. We loved catching up with our Ontario cousins. Nan Bethune loved her visits to Ontario and Florida where she was teated like a queen. Mom and Nan had a lot of fun times with Uncle Don and Aunt Arlie at the cottage and in Florida. Nan would love your visits to NS and especially the Christmas that you totally surprised her by arriving without her having any idea you were coming from Ontario! We had a wonderful time that year with the entire family together at Aunt Do's (I have a picture of the entire family taken that year by a photographer). Nan loved to bake Uncle Don's favourite squares and always loved having you visit her in NS. We are so sorry for your loss. We will always recall fondly our times with Uncle Don and will miss him. WE are thinking of you all and we are sorry we will not be there with you on the 27th but we will be thinking of you all for sure. Love, xo Carol Jamie and Christie

My condolences to Don's family on his passing. Don and I were in the first contingent of Royal Bankers transferred to Ontario in 1959. We made the trip together and got together several times. I was in Georgetown and Don a few miles away in Rexdale. I will always be saddened that I was unable to meet again after we went our separate ways. Sincerely, Tom Quann Pictou, NS

I have been so sorry to read of Don's passing. His stellar career has been a source of pride to many Nova Scotians but I know that a well-lived and successful life does little to lessen grief and the deep sense of loss you must be experiencing. Please accept my very sincere sympathy.
