Obituary of Joyce Marion Pittman

Age 86, of Windsor, passed away peacefully Friday, February 16, 2018 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born January 9, 1932 in Lorneville, she was a daughter of the late J. Willard and Florence E. (Bennett) Parker.

 

Joyce is survived by daughters, Fay DeViller (Robert), Halifax; and Lynn Connors (Jeff), Martock; daughter-in-law, Debbie Pittman Brennan; brothers, Lewis, George and Ross Parker; grandchildren, Kelly, Rachael and Cameron; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband Guy; son, Randall “Randy”; sister, June; and brother, Everett.

 

Mom enjoyed gardening, knitting, ceramics, handcrafts, and stamp collecting. She spent many happy hours writing to over 30 pen pals around the world. Mom worked at Simpsons and Simpson Sears, Market Research, and as a housekeeper/child caregiver. Mom taught Sunday School for several years, served with the Girl Guides, Brownies, Rangers and as District Commissioner. She was a member of NCHA, Mayflowers and Sam Slick Chapters, Mount Denson Garden Club, St. John Ambulance 330 Combined Division and Juniper Grove United Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert Street, Windsor (902-798-8317). No visitation or funeral by her request.
