My memory’s of Mr Woundy are as I assume like many of his other students. He had a certaine gentleness, patience, never raised his voice. I remember even if the entire class was acting up, he would just wait in silence, almost monk like. Immediately we would all feel guilty for wasting his time, and continue on with the rehursal. It wasn’t until after graduating that I got to see him play in his band at Spitfire, he was an infectiously passionate musian. He ignighted the fire in all of us. I cannot imagine what you his close friends and family must be going through, to you I offer my deepest condolences. Mr Woundy you will always be remembered in our hearts, a kind and compassionate soul.

I've known Ted for about 20 yrs.. He was my son's best friend, and partners in music.
They worked closely together. Ted and Sonja kindly looked after Eugene's dog on several occasions. They loved animals, and had sort of a little farm on their property(goats, sheep, cats&dogs etc.). Ted had a knack of making people feel comfortable, especially young people. He had a way with words and wisdom, never overbearing, but, stating his views, in a very caring way, if one was troubled.
He loved to spend time, by the sea, (on the Humber Arm, NL)
We'll miss him very much, his music, love and compassion...He'll remain in our hearts, for a very long time... Adieu Ted...'til we meet again!!

Sonja and Carmen,
It has taken me this long to acknowledge your loss for this reason: where are the words?! I can't express what a help Mr. Woundy was to me, how highly I thought of him and how I somehow expected to always see him driving through town in his jeep! So very sorry...I know the pain of loss.
Mr. Woundy was the one who convinced me to stay in band my first year of high school. I was thinking of leaving due to my inexperience in music and he said to my Mum at PT, "I wish she'd stay"...the rest is history!
Later on, his kind nature and care for his students led him to buy an electric violin for band so I wouldn't have to lug mine around. Those qualities you don't forget in an instructor!
Thoughts and prayers for your comfort and healing are extended to you and your family.

A piece of my heart was taken when I learned of Ted's passing... I have spent the past few days remembering the times we had together - and there were a lot. Though time sent us in different directions nothing will ever take those away. Our time in bands together, Bon Jovi concerts (among others), more shenanigans than you can imagine in high school and even more in our years at Acadia...there's no end. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Ted's family and to the friends his life touched like only he could.

I went to high school at Park View Education Centre with Ted. I still recall our variety show performance with our band Rough Draft. Just a couple of kids and some three chorders. But his rendition of Elvis’ All Shook Up, and Blue Suede Shoes had the audience cheering as if the King himself were performing. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing and my my heart is with his close friends and his beloved family at this difficult time. So sorry for the loss.

We were so sad to hear of Ted’s passing. Our children Andrew and Danielle Meuse loved having him as a teacher and benifited from his talent. They both have a heavy heart today.
Ted leaves a long legacy of inspiring his students to become talented and capable musicians , loving music as much as he did.
Be kind to yourselves and know that a sweet voice is singing somewhere tonight.

May you find comfort in the days ahead knowing how many lives, especially students lives, he touched with his love and talent of music. He inspired so many. Mr. Woundy was the perfect balance of sarcasm and sweetness. I will not forget how welcome he made me feel inviting me to join the band in Grade 11- even though I hadn’t been involved in years prior. Instead of being critical, he was kind and created an atmosphere in which it was okay to make mistakes. Strength to everyone grieving the passing of this sweet and compassionate man.

Ted was more then a friend and more then a neighbour. he was family, he spoke at my wedding, played us down the aisle. And spent too many nights listening to me learn how to be an adult. A hug from Ted made you feel like it was going to be ok. I'll miss you my friend.

Dear Sonja and Carmen,
I just heard of Ted's passing and I wanted to add my thoughts to those many who are thinking of him - and of you - today.
It was a privilege to fill in for him last year - but as I said to all the classes, "There ain't no substitute for Mr. Woundy..."
Ted was more than a colleague. We spoke often and at length - both in the years before my retirement and again last term - of the joys and yes, frustrations of being both musicians and teachers. His easy way of interacting with students was wonderful to watch. He cared deeply about them and they knew he cared. He really made his students try their very best. I shall miss his smile, his wonderful sense of humour, and his compassionate collegiality.
Ted would have loved the part in his obituary about taking the time to support a young musician! That just nailed who he was. He will be missed by so many.
Please know that you are both in my thoughts at this difficult time. Remember the happy times. Be strong.
Most sincerely,
John Hudson

So sorry for your loss, such a wonderful man.
A beloved teacher to many, many music students at Avon View High. Ted worked along side the Band Parent Association to make sure Avon View's music program could be the best it could be. The Band Parents are just part time custodians of the program...the beautiful music the talented students created was all Mr. Woundy's doing. He will be greatly missed. ❤

My deepest condolences to your family. Ted’s gift of music is something I will forever remember and treasure. He played his guitar and sang at my late husband’s reception. Rick was one of his biggest fans, and spoke of Ted’s talents often. May their souls find one another so they may continue to share music together in the heavens above. Another soul gone too soon, but not forgotten.

Mr Woundy stood by me when I didn't have much. I was a struggling student trying to work full time and attend high school too. He gave me a space to work on assignments, a safe space to come work on homework, or to vent my frustrations. He always welcomed students back, and I recall frequent vistory during music classes joining us for practice. He let us pick our songs we played, and with his help we delivered a smashing performance at the end of my grade 12 year.
He was kind, caring and giving. He helped shape my taste and understanding of music, amd encouraged me to play parts that i thought were overwhelming. He always listened when I came to him after class, or during recess, or if I asked him to meet after school, and never told me what I wanted to hear, but always told me what I needed to hear. We often begged him to play songs for us and he never, ever disappointed - as long as we aced our practice first! To cap it off he organized a phenomenal trip for us to Boston and New York City in my grade 11 year, a trip of a lifetime none of us will ever forget.
Mr Woundy, thank you for everything you've done for myself and many other students that have come through your doors. You are greatly missed.

Mr. Woundy was my music teacher in high school about 10 years ago now. He inspired me to pursue my love of music and he is the reason I got into Music Arts in college where I wound up having the best years of my life. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have even known about the program/or followed my dreams the way that he helped push and inspire me to do so. He was the best teacher ever.. and I'm so grateful to have known him. He was an amazing person. I'm so heart broken to know that he is gone. I send my deepest codolenses to his family and friends. Rest easy Mr. Woundy.
