It's hard not to be sad but think of it as Aunt Jean has only gone home to be with Uncle Gerald. I loved the "bled Tory blue", cause I can remember the "lively" debates around our kitchen table at election time cause Daddy "bled Grit Red" and Aunt Jean was absolutely convinced that she was going to "convert" him every time there was an election. And the way she'd come out with "Oh Jack" and purse her lips when Daddy would disagree with her. The whole time Uncle Gerald would just sit there sipping his tea and smiling. And if Aunt Margaret & Uncle Clarence happened to be there, God help Daddy, as he had both of them counselling him on the errors of his way. She was in good spirits other than a sore knee. She will be missed, she was well loved by the staff at Dykeland lodge and she will be missed by me and the staff at the Lodge. To all of the family, my sincere condolences. Jean was the friendliest, most classy lady at the Lodge. Every time I visited my mother, she would speak, or wave. She often asked about my mom, and we also chatted about some of her grandchildren, whom I had taught. She never wore a frown, and her enthusiasm for life was contagious. I will miss her. I can only imagine what a loss you are experiencing.
