I was shocked to come across this news. I was a junior officer in the 1990’s when I first was introduced to Rob. A genuine soldier - he was all heart, never said a bad word about anyone and knew his job well. Never looked for praise just saw the joy in every day. I lost touch with Rob (military life) but will never forget how he took me under his wing to learn his tradecraft …. And engines. I am a better person for having known Rob and grateful to have walked a few miles by his side and proud to call him my friend. Rest easy.

As kids we played with cousin Rob on Grammie’s farm. I remember as a child Rob was a kind and gentle soul who loved the farm animals. The last time I saw Rob was when we were back home in 2000. We got together for a nice visit at his house. He was the same kind and gentle Rob that I remembered. My thoughts are with you Heather, Lorraine and Aunt Bernice. I'm so sorry for your loss. I will never forget Rob for putting my puzzle ring together for me when I was a dummy and it fell apart more than once. He tried to teach me but it never stuck and he was more than happy to put it back together. He was such a kind and gentle man.
