I first met Ron when he was into real estate in New Minas and it was always a pleasure to converse with him when he came into the newspaper office. I met him again at the various jams we attended and he was the same great guy I knew in Kentville. My condolences on your loss. As a young child I met your family as neighbors in New Minas and became friends with Tammy. Years have separated and there is more then one but a lasting memory is flying for the first time in a small lil plane with Tammy and Ron as the pilot. I recall every little thing and taking off, the sound of that little plane, it unnerved but Ron soothed any fear. I was able to experience true awe and exhilaration in the air that day.. flying as high as the sky! My sincere condolences to all of Shorty's family....had not seen him in many years after moving from Hantsport but ran into him and Marg at the 1st Hantsport Reunion. I mentioned how he hadn't changed or aged and he looked the same as when I was a kid...then last year when visiting Mom at the hospital came into Walker's to buy her treats, I noticed Shortly at a large table of people which was your regular family Sunday gathering. He was always pleasant and nice to the kids on Evangeline Dr. when growing up and he was always building or doing something. I remember his plane and the accident and the home renovation that went south....he seemed to love a challenge....sorry to hear of his passing and your loss.
