Doug was a great guy and always kind to us younger boys. I think he also had a job at the Windsor Theatre when I was a kid. Some of us thought he looked a lot like Elvis Presley.

To the Family & Friends of Doug Fredericks:
I was saddened to hear of Doug's passing.
I met Doug many years ago when I was a high
school student working during the summer(s), at
what was then, Stephens & Yeaton, in Windsor.
At that time Doug was waiting tables at the Black
Bear Tavern. Doug was friendly and he would
take time to talk to you. I liked Doug, he was a
good man!
Sincerely,
Randy Cochrane.

We first met Doug and Linda at the Royal Canadian Legion and were happy to know them. He was always a gentleman, and although we only did one school visit for Remembrance Day, we had a connection. He was the only person we knew when we moved to 'The Crossing', and had several chats while out walking. He will be sorely missed here, and we will remember each time we pass where he used to live. He and Linda are together once again!

There are no words to Express how very sad I feel to know your Dad has passed away . He was my cousin.
My mother, Polly Frederick Smith was his aunt. Our grandmother, Mabel adored him . She always thought he looked like Elvis so, as a result, she loved him too !
I did the Photography at your wedding which was Beautiful . Happy memories
It is comforting to think that your Mum and Dad are together again. They were lovely people. They both had wonderful smiles that would light up the room.
May the love and caring of family and friends bring you much comfort during these sad days and know that you have many of us sharing your loss. GOD BLESS YOU.

It was a wonder Doug managed to get his work completed at the school since he always took the time to stop and chat with everyone one in the building . At the end of my workday it was always a pleasure to see Doug coming in my classroom. He was always pleasant, smiling and shared a good story or joke. It was a nice way to end my day. I’m so very sorry for your loss of your dad and I have many fond memories of your dad and have had many chats with him thru the years. I knew your mom too Linda was in the same line of work with my mom and she and I also had many chats and both your parents were great people and would do anything to help others. As sad as it is that they are both gone now I can’t help but think they are both together in heaven sitting there with tea and talking and laughing together again which gives me peace that they are with each other again.
