Elizabeth, Jim and Catherine and families, Emma's obituary has made its way to British Columbia which spurs me to write this note. I greatly enjoyed my connection with Emma. Despite the distance and the primary use of social media to communicate (wish I could get 'home' more often), Emma was always a light of fun and positivity. I miss the connection and know my mum misses her greatly. My condolences to you all.

We were so sorry to hear of Emma's passing. As neighbours for 16 years (we bought John and Emma's house), it was always nice to have a chat when we saw Emma out and around the yard. The flowers she planted when she lived in our place will forever make me smile.

I wish to extend sincere condolences to the family of Emma DeVenney. I remember the time and 3 years I attended the Martock school. Jim, Elizabeth and Catherine attended the one room school heated by two wood burning stoves during that time. You lived only a few minutes from the school. All the best at this difficult time.

Dear family of Emma: We were square dance members of the High Tide Twirlers along with Emma and John and we have many wonderful memories of those years - so much fun. Jimmy, Elizabeth & Catherine, I was saddened to learn of your Mom's passing. I have many fond memories of her and our little 4H classes in your home. She taught me how to do embroidering and sewing and always made the smallest project seem like a real work of art when I had finished it. The many suppers of homemade beans and brown bread on Saturdays that I always managed to be included in. She was a lovely lady and always smiling. Rest in peace Emma. Your memory will live on.

So sorry to hear of Emma's passing .As treasurer of Christ Church Windsor for many years, I got to know both Emma and John very well. Both were kind and considerate people who helped initiate and support the many fund-raisers and community activities that were carried out by the church over many decades including The Newfoundland and Country concerts, ham and lobster suppers, seniors card games etc.
Both will be sadly missed.

So sorry to hear of Emma’s passing. She was such a lovely lady whom I enjoyed getting to know on our trips to the eye doctor.
