Marilyn, Michael, Bobby, Paul and Nancy, you were so lucky to have a dad like Ned. He was a genuinely, kind soul and one of my favourite uncles. Between the 5 Lyons kids and the 4 MacLellan cousins, we definitely tried his and your mom's patience during our many visits over the years - but he was always the voice of reason and calm! As we grew into adults, he seemed to genuniely enjoy our continued visits and what was happening in our lives. Losing a parent is never easy, no matter the circumstances, no matter the age. And when it's the last parent, the family is never quite the same. As long as you keep in touch and share your memories with each other and your friends, they will always be there with you, at your side.

From our family accept our deepest sympathies on the loss of your father. We remember him as a quiet, kind and gentle soul. We grew up along side your family and thoughts of your Dad remind us of childhood memories of camping in Cavendish together. And always the Curling Club and annual New Years party round. Ned treated Mum and Dad to his baked beans in later years and he was a welcome sight walking "Heidi" in the neighbourhood. What a blessing and comfort for him and you all that his wish to stay at home was fulfilled. He was a gentleman.

Dad I will miss you. You touched many souls and always in a positive way. I left home young but each time I came to visit or talked on the phone I grew more; with your calm analysis and advice during any crisis you always offered me loving guidance, thoughtful solutions and a bit of humor to get me through. I thank the many who give tribute on this forum and wish you all are able to live the best that life has to offer - a life you can or as you are able to live to the end as Dad was blessed to do to its fullest.
Thank You to All for the condolences and especially those who provided care in his final years you all made a big heartfelt contribution- Thank You

So sorry to hear of your Dad’s and Granddad’s passing. He and Audrey were long time friends of my Mom and Stepdad (Don and Betty MacArthur). They had many good times together - perhaps one of the highlights was their trip to Waterloo to receive their Doctor of Optometry degrees.
They will be having a wonderful reunion in heaven now❣️

I could not have asked for a better father in law, Ned! You were so patient, accepting, kind, supportive. You told the best stories & had such an interest in everything, you could provide a "google search" answer to most questions -- without google! In fact, Nancy's ready response to many questions we have about house/garden/wildlife/history is "Ned will know." We will miss you, dearly.
And to my sibling-in-laws in NS and Florida - I miss you, feel for you and look forward to when we can be together to celebrate the exceptional life of an exceptional dad.

I worked for Dr. Lyons for five and a half years at his office. He was like a father as he was a friend of my father's and about the same age. I spent time doing things like shopping and babysitting along with office duties. He was a great boss and I had much respect for him. We have shared stories when we have seen each other over the years. My condolences to the family. He lived a long life. May he rest in peace.
