So sorry to hear of Elva's death. Her obituary says it all. She was a kind and beautiful person, inside and out.
She cared for my hair the whole time of our years in Falmouth and we shared laughter. Her easy going ways and her kindness were well known. You will be missed Elva, but heaven must have been ready for you.

After having been away from Hantsport for a number of years, Elva and I reconnected at a reception when she came over and reintroduced herself - it was so nice to see her again! I was pleased to read the lovely newspaper article about her retirement after so many years of being in the professional field. Hearing the news of her sudden passing was a shock and I hope all the wonderful memories she and the family members made together will help to ease their sorrow. .

So very sorry for your loss , I remember way back in 1968 Elva sang for us at Laird's and my wedding , how the years have gone, So many of us have lost so many people we love . David every one deals differently with the loss of their mate and right now I know your in a very dark place , When I lost Laird and then my son I truly would not have made it through that dark time in my life without my family and friends, Remember your not alone you have your family to help you through . I found after I got through the horror of losing Laird and Ken I sat by myself and read the beautiful cards and expressions that people sent me and then I realized I really was not alone ,So many people shared along with me in my sorrow and you will find that to . it was such a shock when I heard the news as I know it was for all of you , Please know I care very much and all of you are in my thoughts .

When I was about 13, Elva and my sister Mary decided to teach me to waltz. They were greatly amused that i could learn 4 steps but couldn't put them to music. My condolences to all of you. Elva was such a lovely lady and she will be dearly missed. When I was taking my cosmetology training I put my hours in at Elva’s salon. I remember she would worry that I hadn’t had breakfast so she insisted I sit in her kitchen and eat before we started our day. I also remember her calling me out to the garden at lunch and we’d often prepare something together, always making me feel welcome. She was so much fun to be around and so caring, never taking herself too seriously. Before Covid we had connected again at church when I visited the Valley on weekends. She hadn’t changed, still the same lovely lady with a big warm smile. My heart goes out to you all.

Elva used to do hairdressing many years ago for Mum (Minnie Phillips) & myself. She was always friendly and made you feel very welcome at her salon. Many times she would offer us a cup of tea and something she had baked.
