Mike and Rev. Pauline,
I extend my personal condolences to you and continue to pray for you and the family as you cope with this tremendous loss of your beloved mom, “Denny.”
I also extend heartfelt sympathy on behalf of New Horizons Baptist Church, the African United Baptist Association and the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada.
Losing our loved ones from this earthly life can be difficult and heartbreaking. God knows that. We are grateful that because of this God makes his comfort available to all of us. The Lord promises to comfort all who mourn. You can be assured of God’s presence and God’s loving arms that can surround you with perfect peace, even in the most tumultuous times.
We praise God for Denny’s 96 years on this earth, loving and serving God, family, and community. I pray that memories of your time together will help you through your grief. I pray those precious memories will shine light in darkness and will bring you to rejoicing that your mom has been lovingly welcomed into her eternal rest.

To Denise’s family:
I enjoyed my time working with Denise. She was a kind and generous person. I remember how much she looked forward to the Louis St. Laurent’s arrival in Halifax, as it meant her husband was going to be home. We had lots of fun back then. She was the last of a wonderful group of senior office staff that I had the pleasure to join in 1969. The others were Dorothy Page, Mary Morse, Kaye Card, Dorothy Rogers, Vi Saunders and Gerry Burden.
I remember Denise’s lovely handwriting and we all looked forward to the chicken salad sandwiches she provided for special occasions.
