FREDERICKS, Norma Faye - 81, Fundy Villa Berwick, formerly of Somerset, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by members of her family.Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Norman R. and Leda M. (Rhodenizer) Jodrey.Norma’s working years began at Chesley’s Store and later at the Smith's Cove Post Office. She loved her family and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. In 1967, Norma was one of the original six people enrolled and successfully completed the Nursing Aid Program that was taught by the director of nursing, the late Yvonne Nichols, at the Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick, where she had worked in different capacities including the C.S.R. Department. Upon her retirement, Norma’s passion was yard sales, set up on her lawns in both South Berwick and Aylesford East for which she was well known in Kings County and beyond. She also enjoyed road trips and was an avid collector of almost everything, but specialized in salt and pepper shakers.Surviving are her children, Rebecca "Becky" (Brian) Ettinger, Windermere; Allan (Jill Sarsfield) Fredericks, Kentville/Petite Riviere; Pamela "Pam" (Bruce) Beattie, Windermere; grandsons, Sean, Calgary, Alb.; Ryan, Windermere; granddaughters, Erin, Halifax; Amy, Truro; foster grandson, Nathan England; sister, Marjorie Puchyr, Edmonton, Alb.; sister-in-law, Audrey Joudrey, Fredericton, N.B.; multiple nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur L. Fredericks; foster son, Gerry England; foster grandson, Darren England; brother, Lorimer "Lorie" Joudrey; brother-in-law, John Puchyr.Arrangements have been entrusted to Bryce Johnstone of DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (902-538-8317). All are welcome to attend a time of sharing on Friday, December 21, beginning at 6:30 p.m., with Words and Tributes of Remembrance at 7 p.m., both in the Berwick Town Hall Gymnasium, 236 Commercial St., Berwick, with Rev. Murray Shaw officiating.
