My condolences to your family. I met Rod over 15 years ago. I spend a lot of time with him when we had done the electrical work on his new building at that time Metals R Us. I’m a country boy from Sherbrooke and spend my entire life with older real to the point men like Rod. I thought the world of him. He to me gave the feeling by example that working hard will pay off. Put your head down don’t complain. Just do it! I always said “Rod there’s not a young fella out there that could even come close to keeping up with you”. He was none stop have never seen anything like him! I had the up most respect for Rod. He always said to me “you should hang your own sign”. I would laugh but yet every time I seen him he would always mention it. 3 years ago I did. And he completely helped me make that major change. Even when I was on the fence about it. Always said if you work hard at it. It will work. And I had thanked him for that many times. And I more then greatly appreciated his business. He will be greatly missed by all. Complete Classic.

Our deepest condolences to all members of the Burns family. We appreciated the few hours Rodney spent in taking us to Mount Uniache a few of years ago, while following history occuring during the teen years.
Also I knew and remember Celia coming to the Browns in Amherst 1962, with her mom Alene, and Celia's contribution to history as well for Parrsboro, Nova Scotia.

Rodney came to Kingston,Ontario in his early 20's to work and became a dear friend to our Witty family. He left us to go into a wonderful Ministry. After he married, Rod and Celia visited Mom and Dad whenever they would come back to Ontario as well as frequent phone calls to stay in touch. Rodney was my big brother, he made a cradle for my doll when I was four. In South Uniacke, he rode the pigs back, not sure how long he managed to stay on. He was an extremely hard worker and accomplished many things in his lifetime, but the thing he cared most about was Gods approval on his life. We are suffering the loss of a son, husband, father, brother and friend.But heaven is rejoicing that another pilgrim has reached home and peace.

One of the toughest weeks by far.
The world has lost a valuable and selfless man who always saw potential and good in everyone.
Seeing you scurry and run around the shop brings me such fond memories. You possessed an incredible ability to tackle any problem or project without fear and always with a smile while doing it.
Our routine afternoon meetings and conversations will forever be fond memories. We spent many hours discussing business opportunities and the many problems of the world and I am pretty sure you even came close to solving a few of them.
My greatest memories are seeing you light up when talking about Metals R Us and its employees, you were always so proud of all of us and made sure we knew it.
When you spoke of Celia and your family you shined even brighter with pride. How you loved sharing your happy stories while banging on your phone struggling to bring up the precious photos from a weekend adventure. These memories will always make me smile.
