Dear Follett Family, my mother, Elizabeth Ferguson, and I just found out today about Harold's passing. We were shocked. Years ago I put a notice on the Newfoundland Genealogy site asking for all those who were related to the Royle's, Forsey's, and Simms of Grand Bank to contact me, and Harold responded saying his grandmother was a sister to my great grandmother Elizabeth Royle. I was so pleased to hear from him. We all met when he was travelling back to Grand Bank to visit his mother. It was great meeting our cousin. We all kept in touch thru the years. My mother & I were planning on seeing him in Halifax this week when we found out the heartbreaking news today. Please accept our condolences. Harold was such a nice gentleman, and we are so saddened to hear of our cousin's passing. Praying for you all during this very difficult time.

I am saddened to hear of Harold's passing. He was one of the great personalities at Scotiabank for the nearly ten years I worked there. It was my first day on the job as a new COD with BNS...I reported to the Portland St. Branch in 1989 where Harold was to become my mentor. While I was only at Portland St. a few days before the Bank transferred me to the Halifax Commercial Banking Centre on Hollis, I did rejoin Harold a few years later as an Account Administrator at Atlantic Regional Office. Many years later, I was thrilled to reconnect with Harold on several occasions in-and-around his new hometown of Windsor. He was a proud Newfoundlander and had a great big heart, a big voice, a big laugh, and huge spirit...I am not at all surprized that he was known as "Big H". And when it comes to bankers, Harold Follett was pure gold. Cheers to Harold.

Sincere condolences to all of Harold's family. I was shocked to hear of his passing so shortly after moving into the apartment building where I reside. I did not have the opportunity to know Harold well but he seemed like a kind, considerate individual who enjoyed meeting people. As a matter of fact, I think in the short time he lived in the apartment building, he had met and chatted with most of the other tenants due to his outgoing personality. We will miss his presence.

My dear Family,
I want to express my deepest sympathies on the passing of precious Harold.
When a family member contacted to tell me of the tragic news - I didn't know what to say for the shock
brought the flood gates of tears. Such a great loss to our family and community.
I have many fond memories of my cousin - Harold, spending childhood memories growing up in Grand Bank with his siblings and folks - Uncle Charlie and Aunt Lillian and visit to our home is St. John's. Harold dropping by in Bedford to visit me and my folks - Aunt Mildred and Uncle Mun. He loved family get-togethers. The last time I saw Harold and Maxine when they were out shopping - we had lots of hugs and good conversations. I shall always cherish my memories and photos!
Remember you gave Harold the best - your time and your love, for these are the greatest gifts to give.
I know without hesitation that Harold knew he was treasured and adored and well respected by many. He definitely left a lasting and loving impression on us all. RIP dear Harold you are greatly missed yet certainly not forgotten. Thank you Harold for being such a beautiful cousin to me!
May God continue to give us courage to accept what has happened and face each day ahead. I am so grateful to have a collection of photos and memories of get-togethers that I will cherish forever. I send much love, warm hugs and many prayers to all. I continue to think of you as well.
Sincerely, Carol Ann
